About Mary

Mary was a bright light,...

Mary was a bright light, she was known for her great sense of humor and liked to commit little acts of unexpected kindness and recognition. Mary was a cheerful giver and merry prankster. Mary loved to be outdoors and enjoyed hiking, camping, time at the beach and working in the garden. Mary leaves us a strong legacy as a beloved partner with Eric for 31 years, daughter, sister, mother, and best friend. A beautiful, strong, resilient woman, Mary fought hard to the end and will be deeply missed by many.

Support the National Alliance on Mental Illness

Mary was diagnosed with bipolar when she was 20 years old. With her strength, medication, and professional help, she managed the disease well for most of her life. A few years ago, her diagnosis was changed to MDD, Major Depressive Disorder. Mary would like you to know that clinical depression is a serious, deadly yet very misunderstood disease. NAMI is dedicated to building better lives for the millions of Americans affected by mental illness. Their Alliance includes more than 700 NAMI State Organizations and Affiliates who work to raise awareness and provide support and education.
