About Bala

Fierce, formidable and forever loved.

The third child of eight, Bala learned early to roll up her sleeves and get on with it. She maintained her strong work ethic until she simply couldn't, due to Parkinson's. Bala was very proud of her Indian heritage and was always an active member of her community, both in her birthplace of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and in her adopted homeland of New Zealand. We miss you. Rest in peace.
